We’ve been a part of the Everett community since our family’s dairy opened in 1930. Everett is our home. It is where we do business. Supporting and helping our city, its citizens and its small businesses grow is our focus. We consistently advocate for policies and programs that support locally-owned businesses, affordable housing and public safety.

Events

Events bring people together to celebrate, learn and create community. They also create a significant economic impact for small businesses. Skotdal Real Estate is deeply involved in planning, coordinating and supporting (financially and logistically) downtown events. From Small Business Saturdays to the live music and beer garden of Salty Sea Days, we do our best to be good neighbors and help however we can.

Blooming Sidewalks

Marianne Skotdal loved flowers, and she loved Everett. After visiting other cities around the country, she came home and decided to launch a downtown flower program to bring color and cheer to Everett’s sidewalks. The City of Everett found the flowers to be fantastic, and today flowers bloom up and down Colby and Hewitt Avenues, brightening everyone’s day.

Art

Our team is committed to commissioning and installing public art as we develop new properties downtown. Stacks of books, airplane tails, sculptures and more grace the sidewalks in front of our apartment buildings. We recognize that for art to spread throughout downtown, we need to help others execute their artistic visions. We’re active financial supporters of new murals and public art pieces being created around our city.

Downtown Strategies

Our team loves Everett and we love to participate in community planning, urban design, and placemaking workshops and studies, providing ideas and input for making our city a more vibrant place to live and work.  Examples include numerous parking studies, Downtown Streetscape Plan, Everett Downtown Plan, Port of Everett Marina District Planning Committee, Everett Link light rail extension planning.

We’re involved in Downtown

As the saying goes, it takes a village. We’re delighted to be engaged in many of Everett’s organizations that are striving to continuously support and improve our town. A few examples: the Downtown Everett Association; the Downtown Business Improvement Area “Clean and Safe” program; Mayor Stephanson’s Community Streets Initiative to advance public safety measures throughout the city; the Everett Rotary Club; and the Young President’s Organization (YPO).

In addition, we volunteer our time with organizations that form to support the creation of new amenities for Everett such as the groups that helped bring commercial air service to Paine Field and the expansion of Everett’s Providence Medical Center.
