In Everett, art belongs to everyone

Large cities around the world are known for their art. The Bean in Chicago, the Charging Bull in Manhattan and the murals of the Mission District in San Francisco are just a few examples. As Everett grows and welcomes new businesses and residents to its downtown, more public art is springing up on our city’s sidewalks, including at Skotdal-owned properties.

We’ve been delighted to add commissioned art installations as we’ve introduced new multifamily developments. While the pieces sit alongside our properties, art belongs to everyone. With that in mind, over the years we have financially supported additional artful elements around our community.

The Classics at Library Place

Inspired by its next-door neighbor, the Everett Public Library, Library Place Apartments is a storied building with everything from a card catalogue to a reading room. Its most famous element however is the sculpture outside its doors. The Classics at Library Place is a stack of literary classics – works that have stood the test of time in their meaning and importance.

Paper Plane Joy

Located outside of Aero Apartments, this fun sculpture is a nod to the delight that comes from not only childhood play, but also from soaring through the air, preferably on an Everett created Boeing jet. Aero honors the aerospace past, present and future of our city.

Downtown Everett Mural

Skotdal Real Estate partnered with the City of Everett to bring this selfie-ready mural to town. The artwork, depicting Everett’s beloved businesses, tourism destinations, waterfront, hometown sports and music events, is a colorful welcome to everyone entering our community.

Aero Plane Art Signage

Aero residents are fortunate to lay claim to two of our favorite pieces. The apartment building’s sign replicates an airplane tail, painted as if it was a plane in an airline’s fleet.

Pencil Pyramid

Located outside of the South Stack, an addition to the Library Place residential collection, the Pencil Pyramid is reminiscent of days spent in the library working on homework as a youth. Whimsical and fun, the Pencil Pyramid is a favorite among Everett’s children.
